New to Sydney and wanting to make friends

I moved recently to Sydney and i have been feeling quite lonely, i have been trying to make friends but it’s like people here don’t want to talk. I want friends to go out with and just share things together and socialize a bit. Is there any tips on how it happens here like making friends and building connections??
