Advice?

I got this Barbie belt as part of the Herve Leger Barbie set but the leather belt is peeling.

The belt is in good condition otherwise - working zipper in the back and no actual tears … just peeling

I think I’m going to buy some faux leather fabric cut out the pieces I need and glue them on the areas that have peeled or are peeling

Just wanted to come on here to ask if you guys have any better ideas or solutions. I’m looking at you my sew gang! Heeeelp before I start using the fabric glue
