Honestly wtf ....

Alright, not even five minutes in and I’m already pissed off.

I’m an ex-Amazon employee—worked there for three years until I got injured on the job. I busted my ass, ranked in the top 2%-5% month after month, wanted to and got trained in every department (inbound, outbound—you name it), and even used Career Choice to earn my Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees, because I actually wanted to move up. This was literally the perfect job for myself as an AuDHD person.

Spoiler alert: Amazon doesn’t give a shit about hard workers!

So imagine my frustration when I hear that this woman works at Amazon and has been three years for her, yet somehow has zero clue about the opportunities available to her like Career Choice, employee debt programs, and other support benefits. She also doesn't know anything about her UPT or her PTO, and doesn’t understand that the only reason she hasn’t been fired is because UPT and possibly her PTO has been saving her ass every time she’s late or doesn’t show up. You've supposedly worked her for three years and don't know this !?!?! HOW?! It's plastered EVERYWHERE!!!!

Like, sweetie, Amazon does not care about you. Not until you start going negative on UPT—then they suddenly care enough to have you speak with HR and then cut you loose. The fact that they are watching you, you are about to get the boot, doesn't matter that UPT is gained daily (when I left it was 2 hours per each day earned).

Amazon’s entire system is designed to grind people down and replace them. As long as you: ✔ Don’t get written up ✔ Don’t go negative on UPT ✔ Keep hitting rate (or close to it)

… they’ll leave you alone. But don’t expect them to reward you for good work. Trust me.

I played by the rules, followed instructions to the T, and put in actual effort because I believed that Amazon promoted based on performance. And what happened when I applied for promotions? I got passed up every time—for the laziest worker in the building. Why? Because they were buddies with a manager and knew how to kiss ass.

Amazon doesn’t promote the best workers—they promote who they can control. If you’re still out here thinking hard work gets you ahead at Amazon, you’re in for a rude awakening.
