May Long Weekend Robbery

This is a massive longshot, but our home in Bowness near Mary's Corner Store was burglarized over days during May Long Weekend. Possessions were hauled off using plastic storage bins and luggage. These included vintage women's clothing (for padding, I'd guess), tools, antique silver teaware, and my life's collection of heirloom jewelry.

Insurance far undervalued what was lost. Even if they had not, I cannot replace what dead and estranged relatives entrusted me and am never going to be in a position to justify purchases. They were all I had to pass on to loved ones. The most mourned items are not the most valuable, but sentimental.

Notably missing are: an old black Nokia Lumia phone with a cracked screen which would show an image of a drawn black beetle on a white background. A photo of a black and white kitten in a silver-plated frame flanked by two curly S-shapes. A Victorian five-stone gold ring with ornate setting and cut moonstones, one with a hairline crack. A round opal surrounded by small round rubies in a cut out silver base on a plain silver band. An elongated hollow blown glass eye with an unusual coloured iris. Danish enamel jewelry including clip-on earrings of cobalt wing/leaf shapes, light blue raised circles, and white leaves with a matching brooch. A bohemian garnet brooch, hooked earrings, and a garnet ring with an opal halo. A silver necklace with what looks like a raised oval dark-blue cat's eye pendant.

Please, if anyone has any information, I'd take it anonymously, no questions asked. We filed a police report (CA 24206995) and contacted all pawnshops and gold exchanges. The ones who were receptive got an extensive list well before items would go on the floor. I have been checking Kijiji, Facebook Marketplace, and Ebay. I have already been told everything was likely melted down without records.

Even if nothing comes of this, I have learned hoarding has intergenerational repercussions- it's worth addressing if you love those you leave behind. And even if you dislike pictures, it's worth taking them at the important moments with loved ones and even the sad stretches, and backing them up on multiple devices.
