Anybody go from a luxury apartment with lots of light and high ceilings to a humble house?

I’m gonna miss all the windows and high ceilings of this place. The house we’re buying was built in the 70’s, has windows but definitely not to the effect of our current apartment. The formal living has vaulted ceilings but other than that the rest of the house is at 8-8.5inch ceilings. I’m going to miss the windows in the bathroom a lot.

It’s definitely not a deal killer since the house still mostly faces south (north facing would be an automatic NO).

It’s funny because prior to this apt we rented a cheap shitty 1 bedroom 1 bath with literally 2 windows. We even lived there for 8 years. The kitchen was always so DARK, it was finally nice to have windows everywhere and not turn the lights on as much. We had been able to save a huge down payment from paying that cheap rent and was able to upgrade to our current 2 bedroom. And there’s still many good parts of this house - huge blank yard for the doggies, next to trails and parks, very manageable mortgage for us and we’d be more than fine if one of us loses our jobs, still going to be larger at 3 bedroom/2bath with a huge living room.
