Thicker oil for older engine?
So I have a 2007 Camry with about 160k miles on it. Oil cap says 5W20 and I always got that. However, at my last oil change the mechanic put 5W30. There is no oil pressure gauge, but it feels as if there is more pressure to the extend that that is even possible to tell (deeper sound and a little more vibration). The car burns a lot of oil (about a quart every 750 miles), so I constantly have to refill. What should I do now?
Keep the 5W30 and keep on filling it up with 5W30? Keep the 5W30 and keep on filling it up with 5W20? Or immediately throw the thicker oil out and get the 5W20 it calls for on the oil cap?
