Married couple with job offers - two separate permits or one family permit?

Me and my spouse work in software development. We both got offers to work in Sweden. Does it matter if both of us go with their own company for work permit process or is it better to have one person be primary and the other join that permit as a family member? Are there any benefits in having a single work permit vs each person having their own? Having separate permits seems better on paper, as that protects us from things like a layoff at one of the companies, but I don't know if this will cause any future paperwork issues.
