Advice needed - Work permit

Hej allihopa! I have been living in Sweden for the past 1.5 years and have been doing my masters degree. I am currently at the thesis phase and will graduate in June. I have had bad luck with job interviews since I am a non-EU student who speaks little Swedish. Last week I finally managed to get an interview. It was for a 6 month temporary position with a chance of extension. My original plan to stay in Sweden was to apply for the job seeking visa which is valid for at least 9 months OR if I score a job somehow, get a work visa. However I recently learned the employment contract has to be at least 1-year long AND I cannot work during the job-seeking permit. I told the company I was interviewing with last week that I would be able to do the temporary position as I thought I could work under job-seeking visa for a short term but turns out it is not possible. It was uneducated of me. It seems that I won’t be able to work with this company as they only offer a 6 month contract and my student visa expires soon. The company is asking if there is any way I could get an extension which is not possible. What can I do now? Is there any other type of permit I can apply to? Or do I just inform the company and apologize for causing confusion. Thank you in advance!
