Charged full price for 2.5 yo on international flights
Edit 2: Just had a call with a customer support lead. After he did some digging and also checked with internal sources, he explained that I'm correct in my understanding of the Tarrif documentation and their website but this is not guaranteed and can change from time to time. He even mentioned that if I would make the same booking today, a discount might be applicable but on the day I made it, it wasn't.
I personally find it ridiculous, in bad faith and also a bad customer support decision. I do fly with Air Canada multiple times a year, so even a small discount just to ensure I don't feel cheated, might have left me with a better impression and a better taste in my mouth.
At the moment I intend not to fly anymore with Air Canada and will be looking in the future for more transparent airlines.

Also something to show how common it is for airline to give child discounts for kids under 12 yo: https://theflyingmum.com/airlines-with-discount-and-free-child-fares/
I was charged full price for 2.5 yo flying with me on a separate seat on an international flight đ.
When I called Air Canada to complain, the first agent told me they can't help đŗ and I have to send an email to customer support. The response I got from customer support via email was that they can't help and I need to call customer support center đ.
I called customer support again, and this time they said the fare is an adult fare and there's no child fare as the fare is already cheap (1400 CAD) đ¤. I explained that that can't be the case, it's an international flight and I found multiple official documentation including he international tattif that stipulate that child fare applies on international flights for children between 2-12 đĩâđĢ.
I'm waiting for a call from a lead/manager. Anyone faced something similar and has tips? What's going on lately with Air Canada, feels like a downward spiral in quality and customer support đ.
