What did you actually want?

So I love the new song. I love the harmonies and the different singing styles she used. I love the choreography. I love the video visuals. I love the soft whistley notes quietly in the background. I love the track. I love the general vibe, and can clearly see where she pulled inspiration, but it still feels like SUCH an Ari song. I assumed I would love it, and I was not disappointed. I clearly seem to be in the minority there. So what were the vocally displeased people wanting? A ballad? More of her powerhouse vocals? An apology song? I’m just confused why everyone seems so upset about what I just see as yet another fun song from one of my favorite artists.
