European SWE Pay Bubble Heatmap

There was a lot of feedback from you all when we first launched the EU heatmap requesting more depth. It used to show the data aggregated by country, but then you’d have this weird tile for all of Norway showing the median SWE salary for Oslo being the exact same as somewhere like Tromsø lol.

By showing bubbles instead of country-wide tiles, you can see the changes in salary on a city level much clearer. This European SWE salary bubble heatmap shows the median pay across Europe, according to the Levels.fyi data set. You can filter it for other percentiles too and hovering over the bubbles on the live site shows how many data points each location has as well as the top companies for those regions.

Just thought it’d be cool to share in here because I’ve seen some other threads in here in the past asking things like “where in Europe would be the best place to work as a SWE.” Although pay isn’t everything for everyone, having a tool like this could help someone who’s looking across Europe for new places to work and I wanted to make sure it got to the right people.
