How to vote in the 2024 elections!

On November 5th, North Dakota will vote not just for President, but for US Senate and the House of the Representatives, for Governor, and for state and local offices. Vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!

You do not need to register to vote in North Dakota. However, you must show acceptable ID when voting in person.

Voting in person

Some North Dakota counties offer early voting. Dates vary by county, but fall between October 24th and November 4th. Find early voting locations in your county here under "Early voting available counties".

If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.

Voting by mail

Any North Dakota voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for a mail ballot here.

Ballots must be postmarked by November 4th, the day before Election Day, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your County Auditor's office, or to a dropbox in your county (see the "County drop boxes" tab). If you return your mail ballot in person, you must do so by November 4th.

If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
