Don't do gender reveal parties unless you'll be happy with either gender.
I was watching gender reveal fails on YouTube and was surprised at just how pissed or sad some people get when it's not the one they wanted. It's one thing to be a child who wanted a baby sister or something, but to see a father start punching balloons is ridiculous and embarrassing.
Even with my experience with my gender reveal party made me kind of regret having one. I thought I was more or less neutral on what I got but I ended up being a bit bummed when it wasn't what I was leaning towards. I got over it, as I knew I would, and now I'm perfectly happy and excited for my baby coming in 2 to 3 weeks! But having to hide my unexpected disappointment in front of everyone was hard.
Think twice before doing a party and maybe don't force your SO or kids into it if you know they'll be super upset in public if it's not what they want.
also CHILL THE FRIG OUT if the reveal get ruined or something. Mistakes happen and it's not the end of the world if a balloon pops sooner than it was suppose to. Just laugh it off and finish the party, have fun and eat cake! Sheesh, some people.
