Listen to your body

I had my baby girl on Thursday last week via scheduled C-section and a tubal and it went without a hitch. Baby girl was born happy and healthy and all seemed well. I was discharged Saturday after both of our vitals and bloodwork came back great.

Sunday, I felt off. My back hurt between my shoulder blades, my chest felt a little heavy, and I was exhausted. I thought, well- I just had a baby…of course I feel not so great.

Monday morning, I take baby girl to the 2 day pediatrician appointment and mention it to the doctor and they check my blood pressure and it was in the normal range and told me to seek out urgent care if it worsened.

12 hours later, I go to urgent care. They tell me to go to ER. I get to the ER and have to be hospitalized for severe pre-eclampsia with an acute pulmonary edema.

Listen to your body when you aren’t feeling well and just because you are okay in your pregnancy, doesn’t mean you’re 100% out of the woods.
