I have a laid-back WFH job - considering not looking at daycare?

I'm anticipating backlash for this lol I'm 11 weeks pregnant and wfh full time - my job is very laid-back. My scheduled working hours are 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday and I get every other Friday off. Honestly if I really sat down and measured my hours based on what I actually do, I work about 4-5 hours per day, but I need to be "online" until 5:00 to answer any questions that come up. I had a coworker with the same job/hours who had a baby and didn't end up sending him to daycare until he was about 1, and she got a new job soon after that pays more but is more demanding (I think thats the main reason she sent him to daycare). I havent started looking for daycare because: A) my company is very supportive/excited for me and I work with other working parents, and they have always been flexible and accommodating to schedule changes; and B) the absolute cheapest childcare available for infants less than 6 months where I live is ~2k a month. I wouldn't want to just go with whatever is cheapest, so realistically we'd be budgeting ~2.5-3k per month and it would eat up all our savings.

Am I dumb to think I can wait until my baby is 6ish month old before I start looking for childcare, knowing I have a light workload and flexible schedule? I don't want to commit to paying thousands per month unless the situation becomes impossible for me to work around.

Edit: thank you to those who provided meaningful replies, thank you!! Your feedback is super helpful.

Additional context: the daycares I'm considering require non-refundable deposits hence my hesitation to make a commitment. 90% of my workload is emails/messages. I have 2 standing weekly internal meetings and rarely have more than 2, 30-minute client meetings per week, which I would exclusively schedule when my husband is home and can watch the baby. I would never neglect my baby just to save a buck.
