Dear Hotel Strikers, I support your cause but please stay off the roads.

Cars and buses alike took forever tonight. I was more than 40 minutes late picking my young kid up from their after-school program because you blocked the streets, which sucks for everyone involved. I’m sure some people had even bigger issues.

Also, a pro tip: Get better signs. 95% of them read: “Our families need healthcare” and “Don’t gut our healthcare.” These are great sentiments, but unless you’re local and used to these signs being associated with the hotel workers, no one knows who your employers are. Embarrassing your employer by name is the single most effective way to get them to negotiate.

Good luck, but please don’t disrespect San Francisco’s citizens in the process. It likely will only hurt your otherwise excellent cause.
