Returning after 10 years

Hello, I’m taking a family trip to the city next month to see my grandpa. I used to live in the city as a US expat about 15 years ago, but I am Shanghainese and speak the local dialect. I am familiar with the old expat haunts and bars, which I believe aren’t around anymore…but also not my scene for this trip. I’m looking for suggestions of places to visit that have changed (for the better) in the past few years. Things to do, fun boutiques, interesting new buildings, the new deep cuts of the city.

I’ll be here with family, who haven’t been back in the city for over 20 years- it’ll be good to show them some of the new city.
