I would like to get a tarantula

So I have absolutely no experience with tarantulas but love them and would really like to get one, I’m wondering what’s a good first species to get and what I would need for said species, I already have many pets and know I would take good care of the little guy/girl, they’re adorable. Also would it matter if I got a girl or a boy?
